Job Title: Field Sales Engineer / Account Manager

Location: Field Based Role (Nationwide Travel Required) - Office in Romsey, Hampshire

Salary: Competitive & uncapped commission scheme (DOE) + mileage / travel / company car*, laptop and mobile phone.

*Provision of a mileage allowance, travel costs or company car will be negotiated with the individual candidates.

Our Client specialises in the supply of equipment for research and testing applications in a range of fields including electrochemistry, biochemistry, corrosion, fuel cells, flow cells and batteries. Their clients are primarily academic research groups but they also supply to industrial customers.

The company philosophy, and indeed sales approach, is based upon providing excellent Support to the customer base and the belief that if even one user is unhappy, that is a failure and needs to be corrected urgently. The successful candidate will have similar views and, like the rest of the team, be determined to deliver this level of support to his or her customers.

The business is approaching its 10th anniversary and during the first 10 years they have achieved sustained growth and success in their target markets and are now looking to add to their team again to help continue their positive progress.

The Role:

The role is a field sales role and will require travel throughout the UK and Ireland to meet face to face with customers and to attend conferences. When not travelling the position will involve working from home (unless home is close to the office in Romsey, Southampton).

There may be a very occasional need to travel overseas to visit the suppliers for product training or sales conferences.

Depending on the specific background of the candidate the role may be tailored as a purely field sales role or a role split between field sales and office based and field based customer and application support. The remuneration, territory and specifics of the role will be tailored to best suit the selected candidate.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with drive and

the desire to be successful as well as having the technical and scientific knowledge to sell the products and assist users in their use.

A background in business to business field sales of technical / scientific products will be an advantage but is not essential.

The company do not require any specific qualifications for this role but a background in chemistry / electrochemistry would be an advantage.

Candidates fitting this description are not easy to find and we anticipate shaping the overall package – territory, remuneration, to suit individual circumstances and capabilities.

The successful candidate should ideally possess a full UK driving licence.

The candidate must be eligible to work in the UK.
