The Application Engineer position is a customer-facing role, providing technical support and expertise to all Company customers and colleagues. In this regard you will be expected to trouble shoot issues using all forms of communication, including regular visits to customer sites and support the product development team in the development of new products, ensuring that they are suitable for all applications supplied by the Company Group Services.

You will have a thorough understanding of application development including installation & modification of current products and the ability to provide positive feedback to colleagues in order to facilitate changes. This may include liaison with suppliers as necessary.

The ability to prepare application documentation including CAD technical drawings, specification and installation instructions to support the sales team and develop the business is paramount to the success of this role.

You will hold at least an NVQ level 3 qualifications with a technical emphasis in electrical/electronics. An industry recognised apprenticeship with a major automotive OEM will also be considered dependent on experience.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience with automotive electrics and/or electronics is required for this role. You must possess a high level of technical and computer application skills, be able to demonstrate high level of knowledge of DC circuits, plus an understanding of analogue and digital electronics.

You will be self-motivated and take full responsibility for the quality of your own work. Possess the flexibility to multi-task, be resourceful to provide technical support, have a practical aptitude with a methodical approach to detail. A level of travel will be required for this role.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, management and colleagues is essential, as is very clear spoken English. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.
