Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of optimal techniques for modelling vehicle sub-assemblies / attributes and standardize this across all Ricardo Vehicle NVH models
• Ensure the Vehicle NVH processes are continuously improving
• Own and run targeted projects to address high hurts systemic modelling issues
• Explore CAE techniques to develop understanding of up-coming vehicle technologies including re-active / adaptive technologies
• Liaise with other Ricardo CAE teams to ensure that Vehicle NVH methods can be integrated into the company wide virtual delivery process
• Promote the use of virtual tools throughout the wider Vehicle NVH team and other groups
• Provide coaching, guidance and instruction for other virtual assessment activities throughout Ricardo
• Ensure that CAE best practice is being deployed throughout Ricardo as appropriate

Must Have

• A minimum of 5 years CAE NVH experience
• Experience of Full Vehicle modelling within the Nastran and Altair Optistruct environment including test/CAE hybrid approaches
• Experience of using commercial simulation products (e.g. Hyperworks, Virtual.Lab, modeFrontier, Simpack)
• Excellent team working, organization and communication skills
• Self-motivated and an ability to identify and carry out tasks independently
• Familiar with optimization techniques
• Understanding of modelling theory (e.g. equations of motion, numerical solvers, etc.)
• Experience of solving complex technical issues using a structured approach with the ability to identify areas for improvement
• A positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities
• Candidates should be educated to Degree level in Mechanical, Automotive or another related engineering discipline
• Robust knowledge of the fundamentals of sound and vibration
• Thorough technical knowledge of vehicles, engines, transmission and driveline systems

Should Have

• Programming experience (e.g. VBA, C++, FORTRAN, TCL)
• Experience of data collection and analysis on vehicles (track / dyno) and modal test
• Experience of Vehicle NVH subjective assessment
• Detailed knowledge of LMS Test.Lab or equivalent
• Experience of Digital Signal Processing analysis techniques
