Due to continued growth, our client is looking for a CNC Setter / Operator to join their highly successful and respected worldwide manufacturing business, providing measuring sensors and solutions.

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines. Loading and running programs through prove out according to the tools list and works instructions, you’ll produce a valid first off component and have it verified. You’ll load and operate machines to meet desired quantities, conduct in-process inspections, check parts against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards.
Additionally, you will clean and maintain machines and the workshop to create a tidy and safe work environment.
Our client currently works single day shifts, with expansion they hope to be able to incorporate further shift arrangements. This is the perfect role for someone who is willing to take responsibility and gain trust to be able to move into a shift supervisor position in the future.
The role will include:
- Setting and operating a variety of CNC mills and lathes machining high tolerance components
- Inspecting work carried out and following the quality assurance system and recording production information
- Assisting in stock control of materials, tooling and consumables

Interested? To be considered, you must have:
- At a minimum, two years’ previous experience in setting and operating CNC machines
- Experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings and tolerances
- Proficiency in a range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques
- A high level of IT literacy, including MS Windows and Office
Hands-on and focused, as a CNC Setter / Operator, you must have a methodical approach and great communication skills. Superb time-management and organisation abilities are also key skills.
