The Development Engineer will be responsible for the continuous improvement of all aspects within the business units including manufacturing performance, cost reductions and communication between Engineering and operations, introducing new technologies and designs.

Development Design / Engineer Overview

* To provide an effective interface between engineering and operations.
* Design and set fixture specifications
* To integrate on-going quality objectives into the department to determine future product methodology.
* Deliver improved profitability through time based, objectively set project work, on time and within project scope.
* Increased throughput, Reduce costs, Improve Quality performance
* To act on problem areas or parts and facilitate cost effective solutions.
* To monitor continuous improvement solutions in an accurate and detailed manner and provide documented evidence of the cost effectiveness.
* To empower and support the operators to be accountable for their processes and embed best practise.
* Pro-actively participate in team based problem solving, engineering, and project management based activities.
* To communicate proven solutions or methods across all cells.
* Demonstrate departmental engineering interaction and support.
* Help, train and communicate with operators to provide full understanding of new processes and improvements.
* Flexibility and adaptability
* Good communication, working with in a team.

Development Design Engineer position Requirements

* Fully time served Engineer within Development / Design
* Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent.
* Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methods
* Strong planning and analysis experience
* Strong computer skills, Microsoft office tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.
* CAD experience (Catia V5)
* FMEA processes
* Knowledge of moulding systems (RRIM, Blow and Injection moulding)
* Able to work within a team environment.
