As a Royal Navy, marine engineering or deck professional with management experience, you know that the sea can be an unforgiving environment. This has never been more true than in the offshore oil and gas industry, where rescue provisions need to meet exceptional levels.

It’s because of this that the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) works to improve safety standards to the interface and operation of vessels with installations – taking to task those who are falling short of their requirements. As such, we’ll encourage your work in the Energy Division where you will influence the future of national and international emergency responses. While the role isn’t seagoing, you will need Master Mariner Qualifications or be a Chartered Chief Engineer (or willing to achieve chartered status), and have the confidence to influence decision-makers in the industry with your statutory and non-statutory knowledge. At HSE, we’re proud of work in raising health and safety standards. Together, we can achieve even more.
