The Role:
Position Description:
Manufacturing Engineer, Bill of Process By working closely with the Product Development and PTME delivery teams, working in small groups, you will be supporting the Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering programme delivery teams across Assembly, Test and Machining by defining and documenting manufacturing processes and requirements in compliance with our Bill of Process procedures. You will also ensure that these requirements are concurred with the Product Engineering teams. In the role, you will be responsible for: Defining and documenting standard manufacturing process sequences for internal combustion engine assembly and test (Bills of Sequence); Defining and documenting detailed process descriptions (Bills of Process) for internal combustion engine assembly and test and machining processes; Defining and Documenting detailed product and process requirements (MDS and MPS) for internal combustion engine manufacturing; Leading cross functional groups of engineers to ensure product design requirements are concurred between Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering and Product Engineering, and the subsequent agreed resultant design rules are documented in the appropriate systems; Ensuring that product design and process requirements are not duplicated across multiple Bills of Sequence and Bills of Process, and Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly is always considered and optimised.

Skills Required:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
1. You will need previous experience of process planning and product launches, preferably the assembly and test of Internal Combustion Engines, but other high volume complex assembly experience will be considered (eg transmissions). You will also be very familiar with the Design for Assembly and Lean manufacturing principles.
2. You will have the ability to project manage complex tasks with challenging deadlines, and being data-driven, you will have demonstrable experience of gathering, preparing, and delivering complex information in various forums and to key stakeholders.
3. With this role being cross-functional, you¿ll be a strong networker, a confident communicator, and an effective negotiator with the ability to develop good working relationships across the organisation. Finally, it will be imperative that you are a proactive problem-solver with a positive and enthusiastic approach and the ability to manage your own time.

Experience Required:
Experienced (5+ years) Manufacturing Engineer or Process engineer from automotive powertrain assembly background. Will consider aerospace or transmissions background. Used to writing processesand procedures. Degree level or timeserved apprenticeship with HNC/HND required.
