The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced site QA who has experience of working in the Civils’/Construction sector
You will be involved in:-

Liaising with civil sub-contractors on a day to day basis
Proactively work with Safety advisor and site manager to ensure excellent safety standards are achieved.
Monitor completion against programme for civils' works
Keep up-to date records of any change / delay
Co-ordinate civil technical queries (raising to civil engineer / site manager, and offering solutions to issues where possible)
Maintaining QA records, including attending witness points, signing off completed works, keeping snag list.
Review, and develop O&Ms as required to ensure full suite of documents are available for handover rot client at the end of the scheme,
Commercial awareness – monitor and record delay, and inefficient working, record change, work closely with site manager and project QS.
Planning of works – attend regular planning meetings, and as part of the team advise on scheduling of works and interface with other contractors on site (M&)
Attending weekly co-ordination meetings
Attending weekly quality review with client to ensure all civil issues are being closed out in a timely manner
Production of daily diary and weekly report.
Phased work quality inspection, such as pre pour inspections on concrete.
Checking as built info, and monitoring as built drawings
Supervision of work ensuring compliance with project DCO (environmental and planning constraints)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent Knowledge of civil construction techniques
Safety training SMSTS
Previous experience of inspecting works, and a good understanding of construction requirements
Ability to interpret construction drawings
Good IT skills
Commercial awareness in a construction environment
Ability to produce reports
Experience of managing Quality documentation

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous experience working within energy environment i.e. substations
Formal qualification in civil engineering, or construction biased qualification (HNC or above)
Ability to use basic surveying equipment (Optical level)
