Job Title: Plastic Processing Setter/Operator

Salary: Competitive hourly rate

Based: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire

Hours: 40 hours per week working alternating shifts and days as required

The company specialises in the design, development, prototyping and the manufacture of innovative Medical, Scientific and Veterinary products. They also offer a complete service for OEM customers, including project management and assistance with Marketing and Commercialisation.

The Company has invested heavily in the latest equipment and now has an exciting opportunity for a Plastics Processing Setter/Operators working with their Technologies Team.

You will need to have a good working knowledge of injection moulding and preferably plastic extrusion processes as well as an understanding of plastic materials during processing and assembly operations. You must be self-disciplined with the treatment and control of mould tools and knowledge of plastic recognition would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

* Set and operate plastic injection moulding and plastic extrusion machines to produce components to tight tolerances maintaining quality throughout all production runs.
* Work within strict controlled production environments to International and European regulatory standards.
* Be versatile with the requirement to set and operate downstream heat and mechanical assembly processing equipment.
* Certify the components produced are gauged to specification as fit for purpose
* Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed on time, is accurate, can be read by others.
* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the company Health & Safety policy, and that any incidents are reported to the Production Manager.
* Liaise with the Production Manager in developing solutions for day to day problem solving.

Experience Required:

* Good working knowledge of injection moulding process
* Self-disciplined with the treatment and control of mould tools
* Good understanding of machine preventative maintenance programs

Experience Preferred:

Knowledge of plastic:

* Extrusion process
* Materials during processing and assembly operations when foreign forces are applied such as solvents and irradiation.
