Role: Contract Civil/Drainage Engineer

I am looking to fill a positon with a large UK-based Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy’s Manchester office for a Civil/Drainage Engineer based in Birmingham. This job will be an opportunity for someone to join a well-established team and work on a range of highways, drainage and other infrastructure projects.

Ideally, you will have experience of Section 104, 106, 38 and 278 Agreements, alongside experience of dealing with local authority planning teams i.e. Highways England/Local flood authorities.

A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering is preferable, alongside Chartership with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the CIWEM. Experience of PDS, Microdrainage, AutoCAD and/or Civils 3D is a requirement for this role.

The role will give the candidate the opportunity to take part in a range of exciting projects and work alongside a multidisciplinary team of other engineers. Applicants will be proactive and able to work well as part of a focused and driven team who strive for excellence and commit to positive, sustainable change within local communities whilst maintaining an awareness of project costs and who can self-manage when required. This particular role also has the expectation that you can also assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new schemes together with the project management and financial control of small and medium sized projects.

This role is permanent or contract, with the consultancy welcoming both types of applicant.

Job Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Chartered with either ICE or CIWEM
