Our client is looking for a candidate with Project Engineering or New Product Introduction experience. The successful candidate will be a solid electrical or mechanical engineer. Our client would consider candidates who have a background in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering or someone who has worked their way up from Tools to Product Introduction.

Duties Include:

* Responsible for the full life cycle of the product from concept design to product validation
* Design for Manufacture, materials and vendor selection, drawing and BOM accuracy and design of tooling, jigs, fixtures and test equipment
* Provide active input to the design review process and Project plans
* Review and approve Bill Of Materials accuracy and structure
* Complete project deliverables as required to agreed targets (time, cost, quality).
* Identify the need and design the solution for tooling, jigs and fixtures in preparation for validation build prior to serial production.
* Identify and request necessary resources to enable pre-production build of NPI products.
* Produce production documentation as required, to ensure products are built to the correct quality within the build process.
* Provide training to Production Engineers and operators for new products and technologies.
* Support and advise Design Engineers and Technical Buyers on the source and selection of suitable vendors.
* Regular communication with Stakeholders
* Liaise with suppliers to confirm specifications of new or modified items for prototype and development purposes.

Required:

* Demonstrate experience working successfully in a Project Engineering or New Product Introduction role within engineering or science based related company.
* Competent in the use of Pro-Engineer or other 3D CAD/CAE tools.
* Happy for occasional international travel

Beneficial but not essential:

* An industry recognised Project Management qualification
* An understanding of Lean Manufacture , Continuous Improvement and process methodology
* Some knowledge or understanding in the use of USB, CAN networks and motion control systems for the use with servo and stepper control systems.
* Experience in the use of DFM/DFA and FMEA tools.
