Supportability Engineer – ILS / Reliability

This is an immediate requirement for an ILS Engineer or Reliability Engineer with experience of working in the defence or aerospace sectors.

A great opportunity has arisen for a Supportability Engineer to work for a leading Mechatronics design company in the Dorset area. This Supportability Engineer role will be working on a number of new complex products being developed for both the UK and international markets. My client can offer you to work on a varied product range using a wide variety of different subsystems

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a supportability role in a highly complex industry. If you have a preference for specialising in either ILS or Reliability then please do apply as my client has enough work in each area to keep you fully occupied as a specialist.

Responsibilities for this Supportability Engineer role

- Knowledge of engineering drawings
- Knowledge of standards for supportability, 00-60, 00-600 and related specifications ASD S1000D for technical publications and S2000M for provisioning and spares management.
- Experience of engineering systems and maintenance would be an advantage
- Verbal and written communications abilities will be necessary
- Practical application of FMEA/FMECA and Reliability Predictions and Cases is highly desirable
- Knowledge of ILS principles is highly desirable and experience in the use of ILS techniques would be advantageous
- Experience of supportability analysis and performance based logistic support contracting would be advantageous

Requirements for this Supportability Engineer role

- Supportability Analysis Assistance as required in Reliability analyses on mechanical and electrical products through Reliability Predictions, FMEA and other techniques.
- To provide Engineering reports on the results of the techniques listed above.
- To assist with the definition and development of product support engineering capability, as required by performance based logistic support contracts
- To co-operate with management to meet the employer’s legal duties and take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.


Due to the nature of the work at this site, applicants must be capable of achieving SC level UK security clearance. Current clearance is not a requirement.
