As an Applications Engineering your responsibility is to provide technical support to customers that are using our products. You must possess a high degree of understanding for how our products are designed and how they work.

Under guidance from your line manager, you will take a lead role in helping to ensure that the products are being used by our customers are used in a safe and reliable way. You will keep records and documentation of product setup, including configuration files and customer installation/wiring details; these will be stored on the company network.

Responsibilities

An Applications Engineer is responsible for:-

1 Work within the UK Applications Engineering team
2 Take the generic motor controller and work with customer to safely modify the configuration to suit end application vehicle needs.
3 Hold technical discussions with customers in order to help ensure correct selection of products to be used; also including integration of auxiliary products such as Display, DC/DC where possible.
4 Assist customers with product installation and the commissioning of the target vehicle, typically at customer location (throughout Europe and Asia).
5 Characterisation of motors for optimum setup, often using dyno in Gateshead or at customer location.
6 Assist customers in system design review or analysis, including system checklists, FMEA and FTA.
7 Provide feedback about application engineering problems to Engineering.
8 Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Global Manager, Applications Engineering

1 The Application Engineers report to the Global Applications Engineering Manager

Performance

Your performance will be measured by a combination of quantitative, qualitative and subjective means. You will be assessed by your peer group and senior management. Your performance will be measured by:-

1 Meeting project timescales
2 Meeting project specifications
3 Adherence to company procedures
4 Quality of work
