The Role:
To provide appropriately Qualified Supervision of NDT and Weld Inspection Activity and assume responsibility for;
• The results of NDT operations
• Verification of visual acuity of NDT staff and contractors
• Ensuring that personnel hold valid certification relevant to their tasks within the organisation
• Establishing, reviewing for editorial and technical correctness and validation of NDT instructions and procedures

• Interpreting NDT codes, standards, specifications and procedures into NDT instructions adapted to the actual working conditions
• Designating the particular test methods, techniques and procedures to be used and define the limitations of application of the testing methods
• Setting up and verifying equipment settings
• Performing and directing NDT operations within scope of certification.
• Evaluating and interpret results in terms of existing standards, codes, and specifications;
• Maintaining sufficient practical knowledge of applicable materials, fabrication, process, and product technology to select NDT methods, establish NDT techniques, and assist in establishing acceptance criteria where none are otherwise available;
• Maintaining a general familiarity with other NDT methods.

• Minimum HNC in a related subject e.g. materials or engineering
• Level 3 PCN qualification in;
• Visual Testing
• Liquid Penetrant Testing
• Magnetic Penetrant Testing
• Ultrasonic testing
• Level 2 qualification (PCNII/ CSWIP3.1) in Weld Inspection

Skills & Experience:
• 5 years minimum relevant industry experience from Nuclear/Aerospace/Defence/Oil & Gas Engineering Sectors
• Interpretation of complex detailed engineering drawings and associated specifications and standards
• Highly competent with MS Office applications

• Degree or Higher in a related subject
• Membership of Welding/NDT/Materials institutions
• Level 2 or higher Qualification in;
• Paint Inspection
• Radiographic Interpretation
• Auditing Skills
• Quality Management
• Problem Solving & Improvement e.g. 8D, DMAIC
