These strategies bring the systems to life and also optimise performance, assure safety and provide diagnostic information.







Key Activities:

1. Work with internal and external customers to understand key drivers, requirements and specifications as part of project teams.

2. Develop and document control systems to meet system requirements.

3. Produce control system designs and specification documentation.

4. Develop flexible, robust, reusable code that can be utilised across a variety of platforms and for a range of products (from fuel cell stacks to complete systems).

5. Work with designers and suppliers acting as a technical contact.

6. Conduct ‘hands on’ verification and validation programs as required.







Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

1. Proven experience of embedded software design in electronic systems.

2. BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng level in a relevant discipline (eg Control, Software, Electronics, etc).

3. Experience of leading project teams.

4. Experience of programming in a high level language (eg Matlab/Simulink, C, C++).

5. Power user of Matlab-& Simulink-based tools for: Code generation, Simulation and Data Analysis.

6. Basic electronics.

7. Object orientated software design skills.

8. A sound understanding of basic classical control design techniques.

9. Experience of thermal and fluidic systems.

10. Physical System Modeling experience.

11. Experience of development test and interpretation of results, with an understanding of measurement techniques, data acquisition and analysis.

12. Experience of C and Net Framework.

13. Control Theory: Classical Single-Input-Single-Output design techniques, Modern nonlinear, robust, Multi-Input-Multi-Output design techniques.

14. Visual Basic.
