* Support the development and implementation of the SWS HS&E management system.
* Provide HS&E support and advice to teams to ensure that HS&E risks are identified and controlled, and HS&E legislation, industry best practice and guidance are complied with.
* Assist SWS to fulfil the duties of CDM Client, Designer and Principal Designer, ensuring that HS&E risks are considered and managed throughout the lifecycle of projects.
* Engage with teams to communicate HS&E requirements and gain feedback on improvements/ concerns, including the delivery of training/ HS&E focus sessions.
* Lead or support workstreams or initiatives to enhance HS&E performance in liaison with the SWS supply chain partners
* Monitor the adequacy of HS&E controls, including competency checks, document reviews, audits and site inspections.
* Conduct or review incident investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence
* Lead by example by promoting a positive HS&E culture

Key skills/knowledge/qualifications/experience:

* Ideal: Graduate member of IOSH (GradIOSH), Incorporated Member of Association for Project Safety (IMaPS), NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
* Minimum: Technician member of IOSH (TechIOSH) with strong practical experience of construction / engineering
* Auditor qualification and knowledge of OHSAS 18001
* Experience in construction or utilities industries, particularly through design and construction phases of projects
* Strong knowledge of CDM and experience in supporting CDM Client, Principal Designer, Principal Contractor roles
* Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders
* Excellent communication skills- verbal, written, presentations
* Excellent IT skills- experience of working with Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, Powerpoint
* Excellent time management skills, ability to support multiple projects, self starter, problem solver
