Antenna Design Engineer

This is an immediate requirement for an Antenna Design Engineer or RF Design Engineer with experience of working on multiple types of antennas.

A great opportunity has arisen for an Antenna Design Engineer to work for a leading satellite design company in the Hampshire area. This Antenna Design Engineer role will be working on a number of commercial satellites each holding multiple antennas. These antennas cover a wide range of uses from, communications, imaging, and infrared red.

The ideal candidate will have antenna design experience and have covered any wavelengths from megahertz through to terahertz. You can come from any sector and have worked on any antennas types such as radar, thermal, communication etc..



Responsibilities for this Electronics Engineer role

- Responsible for the design, analysis, development and test of Instrument and Payload antenna subsystems hardware and components, for both active and passive antenna systems.
- Creation of innovative antenna solutions for various Instrument and Payload applications.
- Supporting performance analysis to enable understanding and interpretation of Antenna requirements and translation to Instrument and Payload performance parameters.
- Prepare engineering documents, requirement specifications, perform analyses, generate verification and design justification files.
- Preparation and delivery of technical presentations to customers.
- Working with members of their own team and with other departments, with some delegation and supervision possible.
- Interact with customers / suppliers to agree specifications, monitor progress and answer technical queries.

Requirements for this Electronics Engineer role

- Proven experience in the analysis and design of RF & Microwave Antennas
- Proven capability in Antenna design with a successful product portfolio.
- Proven understanding of fundamental electro-magnetic antenna theory and analysis methods, and ability to apply this from first principles in practical applications to create innovative solutions to problems.
- Understanding of antennas application to RF & Microwave systems in evaluating, e.g. link budgets and noise figure.
- Experienced in the use of industry standard analysis tools, e.g. MATLAB, ADS, HFSS, GRASP etc.
