This is an immediate requirement for a Software Engineer with experience of implementing agile development methodologies.

A great opportunity has arisen for a Software Engineer to work for a leading Engienering Integration company in the South Wales area. This Software Engineer role will be working on a number of new programmes and products being developed for both the UK and international markets.

JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities for this Software Engineer role

- Development and documentation of software designs using UML modelling tool
- Development, documentation, verification and support of integration harness and stubs for use by 3rd parties.
- Development, documentation, verification and support of simulation tools through a combination of simulated system elements and hardware in the loop as required.
- Work with external and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and agree designs/solutions to satisfy those requirements.
- Undertake analysis of design changes to confirm feasibility and impacts on the system to inform implementation decisions.
- Present and demonstrate solutions to relevant stakeholders to gain feedback on the development activities and support future improvements.
- Accurate and timely reporting of progress and escalation of issues to Programme and Engineering management.
- Responsible for time management ensuring work outputs delivered to agreed schedule
- Management and supervision of software development staff utilising Agile techniques.
- Responsible for software quality and performance.
- Responsibilities That Are More Supervisory In Nature:
- Creates plans and processes for his/her area of responsibility by tailoring standard templates to the needs of the project. Assumes cost and schedule responsibility for a cost account/work package of reasonable proportions;
- Perform performance appraisals.
- Participates in job interviews for more junior personnel. May also participate in interviewing at job fairs and for co-ops

Requirements for this Software Engineer role

- Breadth of experience in a role that demonstrates technical experience and application of software engineering skills with a track record of delivery.
- Experienced in agile software/product development methods and best practice.
- Demonstrates understanding of the software engineering lifecycle and phases, and challenges associated with engineering in a delivery focussed, commercially successful organisation.
- Experienced in engineering methods and tools for elaborating architectures and software requirements.
- Experienced in engineering methods and tools for system modelling (SysML)
- A belief in and understanding of the benefits of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience of systems & network dynamic modelling tools that can be validated against real world behaviour.
- Confident and effective dealing with Customers, End Users and 3rd parties.
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills as well as motivation, integrity, professionalism, flexibility, commitment and innovation
- Hold or be capable of holding security clearance
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
