The Role:
The infotainment team are responsible for all entertainment and communications equipment in the car, this includes include navigation, audio, video, radio, TV, and telephony. More recently this has extended beyond the car as information and services are provided remotely and served to the car from the internet.

Main Purpose:
Delivery of given connected car infotainment features for given projects, to quality, cost and time targets. The successful candidate will be allocated one, or part of one, of these features and be fully responsible for the technical delivery of associated parts and processes to the projects.

Scope of Work:
The delivery role encompasses 6 main elements from project concept to completion, each having different emphasis at different stages of projects. Some examples of expected work at each phase are…

• Specification – service or function feasibility studies, costing, competitor analysis
• Requirements – functional requirements, milestone definitions, cross functional requirement definition
• Development – supplier selection, project management, supplier approvals and sign off
• Testing – creation of test environments, licence coordination, bug tracking and management
• Deployment – app store releasing, BMG sign off, MBB sign off, handbook, demonstrations and education
• Run – regression testing, API changes, MBB changes, market changes, OS updates

In addition to delivery tasks, the engineer may be allocated some “special responsibilities”, such as a process or IT system in which they are required to act on behalf the whole team, and/or a pre-development topic to investigate (e.g. with VW/Audi).
Responsible for all external supplier and internal interfaces to achieve the delivery objective within budget.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A degree or equivalent qualification in an Electronic Engineering related discipline.
In certain circumstances lower qualifications shall not be considered a barrier, as long as the engineer has a proven track record of effective performance in delivery and has significant direct experience.

• Good communication skills at all levels
• Proven self starter and able to work independently
• Good time management and able to work under pressure
• Clean driving licence is a benefit
• Willingness to travel, particularly to Germany
