Our client is one of the world’s largest suppliers of power systems and construction equipment. They are now seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting field-based maintenance and repairs on diesel or gas power generators and control Systems throughout Ireland.  

You will carry out preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on our client’s products, guaranteeing that machines operate at the required standards.  

Ensuring that all environmental, health and safety policies are followed, you will respond to customers’ field call outs, quickly identifying and explaining the nature of faults to the customer. Working as part of a rota, you will provide cover on a 24 hour call out basis, delivering a high standard of customer service at all times.  

Your other duties will involve:  

- Responding to emergency call outs  
- Carrying out planned service and maintenance  
- Completing service reports and warranty documentation  
- Occasionally repairing and carrying out work on marine engines  

To be considered for this role, you must have:  

- Experience of working with a variety of Diesel Generators, control systems and various types of installations  
- Experience with diesel and/or gas generators and combined heat and power applications (CHP)  
- Diagnostic abilities with both generators and engines  
- Formal apprentice training and time served as a Fitter, Mechanic, or Electrician  
- A full, valid driving licence  

Proactive and hands-on, as a Field Service Engineer, you must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. An analytical mindset and customer-focused approach are also key.  

Experience of U.P.S. Systems would be beneficial to your application. Experience of Generator Control Panels, Alternators and Changeover Panels, Electrical Fault finding would be beneficial to your application. Previous experience of marine engine installations would be beneficial to your application, but is by no means essential.
