The Role:
Main Responsibilities:

Buyer Role – Modular Division
• Issuing of enquiries
• The receipt of quotations
• Conducting and satisfactorily concluding negotiations leading to commitment of orders
• Liaison with the package manager/discipline engineer regarding technical, quality, delivery and commercial aspects of the quotations received.
• Preparing commercial evaluations for approval
• Administrating technical and commercial issues of Purchase Orders.
• Raising Contracts/Purchase Orders
• Updating the Procurement Schedule regarding purchasing activities
• Monitoring vendor progress
• Issue detailed weekly reports
• Expedite all documentation submissions and returns
• Liaise with the Project Quality group on vendor visits and inspections
• Ensure receipt of vendor progress reports and to the project
• Co-ordinate with Quality/Logistic/Stores regarding release, shipment and receipt of goods
• Negotiate best prices and establish supply chain for transport processes
• Work with Project Engineers or Managers to establish delivery schedules and make arrangements accordingly.
• Assist with Client Shipping documents by completing the official Client Packing Lists and Commercial Invoices, in line with project requirements.
• Procurement of shipping materials such as pallets, timbers, straps etc.
• Make arrangements for national and international shipping of finished product to client’s desired location as per PO address and liaise with shipping agents and / or clients in relation to documentation needs.

The Company:
Reporting to the Procurement Manager and under his direction responsible for the Expediting/Buying/Shipping of all subcontract and procurement activities to ensure materials, goods and services are delivered in line with programmes. To report on status of procurement activities and advise projects as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• At least 3 years’ experience in expediting/shipping role.
• This role may require some travel, nationally and internationally
• Computer Literate
