A very successful, family run M+E contractor business with 3 UK offices, has a vacancy for an Electrical Design Engineer to be part of their team based in the Liverpool office.

The vacancy is open to candidates from Intermediate to Principal / Lead level.

Successful candidates will have some or a good selection of the following capabilities, depending on the level of role applied for.

* Provide technical leadership, knowledge & expertise within the electrical services sector.
* Monitor & control commercial aspects of each project ensuring compliance to project budget.
* Lead & coordinate the electrical design team in the development of detailed designs, drawings and calculations.
* To initiate and assist in the preparation and scheduling of all design drawings including the final sign off prior to customer/subcontractor issue.
* Undertake review of 3rd party MEPH design drawings with the Engineering Department prior to release to the customer and Operations teams.Ensure the designs meet relevant standards and customer requirements.
* Carry out design calculation reviews of designs prepared by external Design Partners.
* Ensure that the technical and manufacturers data library is kept up to date and disseminate information to the electrical design team.

The Electrical Design Engineer will also have some or a good selection of the following attributes.

* Significant Design experience within MEPH sector .
* Strong knowledge of Hevacomp, Cymap, Amtech, DIALux, RELUX, Excel, AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
* Electrically biased but with a good knowledge of mechanical services.
* Degree educated or at least to HNC level in Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively working towards it.
* Member of relevant institute, IET, CIBSE.
* Have a good understanding of current building regulations, SBEM, SAP, BREEAM, London Energy Strategy etc.
* Ability to challenge traditional thinking and practices.
* Very personable character, with the ability to integrate into any business environment.
* Ability to gain confidence of the customer and assist in his decision making.
* Experience of working collaboratively.
* Creative yet commercial mind.
* Able to meet deadlines.
* Accepts / creates change and new ideas.
