Main duties:
Leading the assembly processes, to drawings and with guidance from the design engineers as required
Purchasing of assembly tools, equipment and also small components such as fasteners
Hire of equipment that might be required on a short term basis
Management of components, including storage, handling and record keeping
Assembly of high power battery systems, electrical motors and housings
Managing the outsourced manufacture of small tools, jigs and fixtures as required

For this role, essential qualifications are an electrical biased NVQ or equivalent and the following experience:
3+ years experience working on site or in a production environment - electrical installation or fitting
Experience operating overhead cranes and lifting & slinging training and experience
Sound understanding of fundamental electrical and mechanical principles
Ability to understand and follow electrical and mechanical drawings
Experience leading or supervising as a part of a small trade-based team
Computer literate in MS windows and MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel)
Demonstrable applied understanding of quality assurance as it applies to assembly operations
Sound understanding of applied UK HSE requirements for electrical and assembly work
Working knowledge of: fastener tightening procedures, corrosion protection, hydraulic systems, pressure seals, tubing and piping, pumps and flow control, wiring

Desirable qualifications and experience:
HNC in electrical engineering, and any CAD experience
Experience with high power battery systems
Experience working on subsea systems
Driving and Forklift licenses

Rates and hours:
£18-£20/h
40 hours

The successful candidate will be required to take direction from the lead engineer and project manager for day to day tasking and technical input.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work within the UK, be eligible for UK SC level security clearance, and will be expected to apply all company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Safety Management Systems.
