Our client specialise in the manufacture of process equipment used in the power generation and petrochemical industries. This includes boilers, headers, steam drums, heat exchangers and pressure vessels.

Candidates should have demonstrable management experience in a similar position with experience in the manufacture of pressure containing equipment. Familiarity with welding, machining, NDT, PWHT, calibration & pressure testing activities is essential.

This high profile role will involve the management of a number of the Client's operations including:

i) Internal Quality Control – You’ll manage & support QC staff relating to visual & physical inspections of the products to assure product conformity i.e. ensure that Quality Plans & Instructions are correctly applied, specified quality levels realised and compliance with all relevant specifications plus the Pressure Equipment Regulations is properly achieved.

ii) Internal NDT Department – You’ll have administrative responsibility for managing & supporting the running of the NDT Department, personnel, equipment & consumable requirements to ensure the correct resources are made available for the safe, accurate & timely completion of contracts. You will also be expected to liaise with clients, client’s inspectors and Third Party/Notified Body organisations during the onset, manufacture & completion of company products.

iii) Quality Assurance & Quality Management Systems - Managing QA & QS will be necessary to assess the ability to meet customer, statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the products and assure compliance with client’s precise requirements in accordance with National and International Standards & specifications. You’ll also be responsible for the attainment, monitoring & maintenance of Company Certificates of Accreditation & Approval for: ISO 9001: 2008, ASME ‘U’ and ‘S’ stamp approvals and Pressure Equipment Directive conformity.

iv) Welding Engineering – You’ll be responsible for managing, maintaining and issuing the Company’s British Standard and ASME welding procedures and Procedure Qualification Records. You will need sufficient welding engineering experience to be able to issue the correct welding procedures to production teams and at the same time ensure that for each contract, the welding procedures correctly represent what is to be welded in practice.

v) Training - You will also be responsible for running an Annual Training review at which all training records are examined and ensure all training records are kept up to date.
