Cost Engineer - Bids and Proposals

Location: Can be based in either Stoke or Crawley / Redhill location

Skills: Cost Engineering / Bids / Proposals / Tenders / Auctions / Financial Modelling / Financial Analyst

A fantastic position has arisen within this international Manufacturer of high tech screening products due to their constant growth and expansion. They are looking for a Cost Engineer to work on their bids and proposals team, working closely with Bid Managers and Product Line teams to ensure that the cost volume is compliant, competitive and compatible with proposals. You will develop the cost strategy and layout of the cost / business volume overseeing all 1st stage costings.

Working on mulitple bids with varied timelines you will be an expert in Excel, a real self-starter who can make an immediate impact within the company. Your responsibilities will include:

* Responsible for managing all proposal cost activities to ensure high quality and consistency during cost volume development.
* To provide Executive Summaries of the cost/price model to go forward for Corporate approval at the most senior levels of the Company.
* Gathers costs from all identified sources. Establishes the guidelines for the Basis of Estimates if required.
* Oversees the development of or writes any text required for the cost/business volume including commercial caveats, notes, assumptions, inclusions and exclusions.
* Participate in establishing and updating cost engineering/modeling approaches while keeping continuous process improvement in mind.
* Works with Sales to develop competitive pricing strategies
* To seek to continuously improve the bid process bringing in best practice and educating all stakeholders involved in the tender costing process.

You will be able to showcase the following skills:

* Working as a Financial Analyst / Cost Engineer with Bids and Tenders experience
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel
* Experience preparing cost proposals for equipment and service provisions
* Adept with pricing model development
* Risk analysis, management and mitigation
