Our aerospace client involved in the manufacture of hydraulic pumps, motors, valves & generators have an opportunity for a Product Line Supervisor (Production Team Leader) to join their facility near Portsmouth. This position would be working on a late shift; Monday to Thursday 14:30 – 00:30.

Reporting to the Test Cell Planning & Control Supervisor, working under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for the test of a variety of Hydro-mechanical and Electro-Mechanical products within aerospace. Work is controlled by standard specifications and procedures. Deputising for Test Cell Planning & Control Supervisor. The Product Line Supervisor position has primary responsibility for overseeing production lines/cells within the Test department, ensuring maximum productivity and quality. ACCOUNTABILITY

1 Responsible for supervision, planning and delegation of production work.
2 Responsible for day to day labour planning and hour by hour monitoring of flow
3 Hold Tier 1 meetings with relevant personnel ensuring metrics are current and timely
4 Track Utilization & Productivity within the Cell.
5 Assign employees to individual tasks on the line/cell as outlined need and organize training for them accordingly
6 Oversee and monitor production flow on the line, trouble shoot problems, make adjustments as needed, recommend and institute improvements
7 Motivate temporary staffing service employees in order to maintain maximum production line efficiency and meet production goals
8 Ensure adherence to Company policies, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) CMM ‘s (Component Maintenance Manual) and Working Practices.
9 Ensure accurate maintenance of all production paperwork
10 Maintain line cleanliness through good housekeeping 5s+practices
11 Responsible for safety on the line/cell and for adhering to all safety rules and programs
12 Communicate with other departments, such as stores, Assy, Supply Chain and Quality as appropriate and necessary
13 All training, holidays, time keeping, input into APEX for manufacturing, raise discipline issues.
14 Assisting in the development of the team in terms of training in skills related to product and processes such as Lean principles.
15 SOP, TP, Approved Test Documentation, performance and quality standards must be maintained at all times. Ability to assist with any quality, diagnostic or training related issue is required. Liaise with Sustaining / Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering in order to overcome/improve unit related problems.
16 Other duties as assigned


1 Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, CMM, TP’s and any other relevant authorised documentation
2 Able to lead and motivate a team within a controlled environment
3 Ability to work closely within a team environment and contribute effectively to problem solving activities.

PROBLEM SOLVING Within the framework of established policies and procedures, but will communicate problems and suggested resolution to the Test Cell Planning & Control Supervisor/ HPWT MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED A formal qualification in an engineering discipline or Qualified by Experience MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Eighteen months previous experience in Team Leader / Supervisory role preferably within an Aerospace, Automotive or similar environment.
