Systems Engineer – Satcom Integration

This is an immediate requirement for a Systems Engineer or Integration Engineer with experience of working on communication systems.

A great opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer to work for a leading Satcom design company in the Aldershot area. This Systems Integration Engineer role will be working on a number of new products being developed for both the UK and international markets.

In particular you will be integrating new features on new broadband satcom terminals appropriate to applications such as airborne, telemedicine, remote backhaul, ground mobile communications and defence.

JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities for this Systems Engineer role

- Expertise in planning, defining and executing test, integration and trial campaigns for our satellite communications systems.
- Apply complex and innovative communication solutions to real world problems in ways that make economic sense.
- Write integration & test plans.
- Define test requirements.
- Write and execute test procedures.
- Lead trials activities.

Requirements for this Systems Engineer role

- Experience in the field of satellite broadband networks and technologies.
- Expertise in protocol standards such as IPv4, IPv6, Mobile IP, 802.11b/g, GRE, ARP, and IPSEC
- Familiar with wireless communication theory.
- An Engineering Degree.
- Recent relevant work experience.
- Experience in defining integration test plans.
- Experience in deriving system test requirements from system requirements.
- Hands on experience with communication test equipment.
- Fault finding ability down to LRU level.
- Fully conversant with System Integration, Validation & Verification strategies, including Certification and Environmental Qualification processes.
- Proactive and flexible approach to system testing.
- Practical and pragmatic problem solving ability.
- Have excellent numeracy, analytical, organisational, motivational, team working and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Be self-motivated, totally reliable, hardworking and flexible.
