At Southern Water, providing the very best quality drinking water to our customers and looking after the environment are at the heart of our business. We demonstrate this by complying with regulations detailed by the Drinking Water Inspectorate who are the UK’s guardians of water quality and the Environment Agency. As the Scientific Services Technical Manager you will play a key role in ensuring we provide the best sampling and testing operation. You will lead the company approach on developing a robust quality system including the implementation of accredited on-line monitoring systems.

You will be degree qualified (ideally in chemistry or a related scientific subject) and chartered, or willing to work towards chartered status. We’re looking for someone with an in-depth knowledge of the ISO17025, DWTS and MCERTS standards and an understanding of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations and associated guidance.

This role will involve working with people across the company so it is vital you are able to communicate and present complex data from different systems and across multiple disciplines to non-technical audiences. You will also have strong organisational and project management skills.
