The suitable candidate will be required to undertake appraisals/inspections, feasibility assessments, preliminary/final designs, drawings, reports and specifications to professional standards.


You will provide estimated generic asset replacement costs using standard trade indices to give an indication of future replacement costs and budget requirements for an asset.

Carry out Physical Asset Condition Grading of buildings utilities and infrastructure to Asset Level 4 in accordance with the EPMS (Estate Performance Measurement System)

Provide accurate appraisals of buildings, infrastructure and utilities based on knowledge, experience and professional training

Be able to display a knowledge of and understanding of Statutory Requirements, Current Regulations and Approved Codes of Practice with regard to the above

To advise on any health and safety issues, energy efficiency and sustainability to improve the performance of Naval Base buildings and assets through inspection and survey in line with best practice.

Carry out a wide range of surveying related duties across the Naval Base including but not restricted to:

* Carrying out a professional assessment of the requirement
* Providing a detailed summary of the item(s) under inspection
* Liaising with the client to discuss the options available
* Taking into consideration all H&S and Environmental issues
* Consulting with service provider / sub-contractor with regard to deliverables, fitness for purpose and value for money

To provide technical support to other departments and Intelligent Customer


Ideally degree qualified (although not essential) or equivalent and/or suitable experience in a related field

Minimum ONC/HNC in a building surveying/construction discipline

Good knowledge of building construction/technology and building pathology

Appropriate Health and Safety Qualifications e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH

Knowledge of and ability to apply construction related Health & Safety legislation and good practice
