Lead RF Systems Engineer

This is an immediate requirement for a Lead or Principal RF Systems Engineer with experience of working in a telecoms or communications environment.

A great opportunity has arisen for a RF Systems Engineer to work for a leading Aerospace design company in the Portsmouth area. This Lead Engineer role will be working very closely with customers to guide them through the design and development phases on bespoke work. You will also have technical responsibility for a small team of 5 RF Engineers

Travel – This role will require travelling to customer sites across Europe for a few days each month



Responsibilities for this Lead RF Systems Engineer role

- Lead the RF System Team assigned to a telecom project
- Understand or interpret customer requirements
- Assist in the design processes for a telecom system
- Production of detailed equipment specifications
- Analysis of system architecture
- As part of a project team, perform RF analyses of system performances
- Take part to the preparation of analysis data with relevant analysis tools
- Review inputs prepared by the RF System team for the reviews with the customer
- Presentation of analysis data to the customer (in the context of customers' gate reviews: PDR; BDR; CDR; etc.)
- Support the test campaigns and the analysis of test results, working hand-in-hand with the
Assembly, Integration and Test operations team (working in clean room environment)
- Lead investigation of technical issues or problems
- Provide support to other groups such as the Mechanical Design Office, Purchasing, equipment suppliers and Assembly and Integration Test teams.
- Responsible for the coordination of the workload across the RF system team members assigned to the project managed

Requirements for this Lead RF Systems Engineer role

- A degree in Electrical, Electronic engineering, mathematics or physics
- RF communication engineering
- RF Instruments; Test Equipment and Test technique
- Working within an environment controlled strictly through an established Quality system
- Microwave / high frequency RF engineering
- Knowledge of Communications systems
- An understanding of equipment such as receivers, converters, amplifiers, waveguides and antennas
- Engineering life cycles and equipment/system/payload or environmental testing
- Quality standards
