Job role:

1 Product (software, hardware and mechanics) assembly, troubleshooting and testing
2 Producing test plans
3 Producing and maintaining test procedures
4 Ensuring projects are progressing to time
5 Liaising with development engineers when projects related issued arise
6 Design, construction, maintenance and calibration of test equipment
7 Keeping working environment clean, tidy and safe
8 Applying continuous improvement of working practices, processes and working environment
9 Identifying and managing continuous improvement of equipment and test methods
10 Assisting development engineers with analysis of products, including FMEAs, design reviews etc.
11 Supervision and guidance of technicians, junior technicians and apprentices
12 Work to company quality and national/ international standards
13 Ensuring that all work is carried out safely

Must have experience and skills in ALL of these areas below:

1 Development of test plans and procedures
2 A strong understanding of power electronic, analogue and digital circuits, including experience designing circuits
3 Assembly, troubleshooting and testing electronic products
4 Electronic test equipment (including DVMs, Oscilloscopes, Data Loggers, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analysers)
5 Soldering, de-soldering techniques
6 Computer literate (Microsoft Excel and Word)

Desirable experience and skills:

1 Automotive product development and testing
2 Experience with high voltage (>60V) and or high current (> 100A) products
3 EMC testing, including exposure to standards such as REG10, ISO16750, CISPR 25
4 Thermal and environmental testing
5 Mechanical skills, assembly and creation of one off parts, use of machine shop tools
6 Experience with high volume products
7 Experience with CAD tools (Mentor Graphics (DX Designer, Expedition), SPICE, etc.) including an ability to layout prototype PCBs
8 Experience in HALT/ HAAS testing
9 Experience with automated test equipment

Qualifications Required:

1 HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent. (minimum)

1 Proven experience working as an electronic test engineer
