This new senior role forms a key part of our engine calibration growth strategy. The Technical Lead & Attribute Team Leader will be the technical figurehead for engine calibration; championing our tools, processes and methodology as well development of the attribute lead team. The role will be based near Brighton on the South Coast, and report to the Director responsible for Engine Calibration Control.

The suitable candidate will have an Engineering Degree and extensive relevant calibration experience, with proven technical expertise and delivery track record in engine calibration within an OEM, Tier 1 supplier or consultancy. Expert knowledge of the followings areas will be required:

1. Base engine calibration

2. Engine emissions control

3. Engine in vehicle calibration (emissions, torque structure & drivability)

4. Exhaust aftertreatment calibration (LNT, SCR and DPF)

5. OBD

6. Homologation and legislative requirements

7. State of the art calibration tools, processes and methodology

Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle systems would also be beneficial.

As Calibration Technical Lead & Attribute Team Leader you will also be responsible for:

1. Leadership & development of attribute lead team

2. Technical direction and support across the engine calibration team

3. Definition of calibration technical roadmap

4. Innovation in technical process and tools, including R&D ownership

5. Ensuring a consistent delivery approach and best practices are deployed across all calibration projects

The candidate will also demonstrate diligence, professionalism, a focus on delivery and the ability lead effectively in a team environment.

Excellent communication skills are expected as the role will be significantly customer facing (internal and external customers). The candidate will be expected to liaise with customers on a regular basis and present the Ricardo calibration capabilities and processes.

The role will also include the preparation and presentation of commercial proposals to prospective customers.

A certain amount of business travel can be expected including customer meetings occasional on-site development support.
