A project must be outlined, launched and managed to implementation for a Measurement process for all incoming measurement requests coming from both Chichester and other plants. A Service Provider must be appointed and set up to perform the Measurement task(s) that are being sent into the Metrology facility. As part of the project, a flow of information and alignment must be maintained with the Total Vehicle Validation Department and their support partners; adherence to the policies and processes must be established and implemented.

An IT solution to aid the management of the measurement and reporting process should be confirmed that the existing IT infrastructure both hardware and software can support the project. The project will be based at the Chichester manufacturing, within the Metrology department. Will include travel to Oxford and Germany

This role includes
Project Management

Full project plan and scope needs to be written up, including timelines and milestones. Meetings with applicable stakeholders are to be arranged and chaired. The project plan and progress needs to be regularly presented to the Geometry Integration Manager. Integration with Total Vehicle Quality Management Team,s the Metrology function sits with the overall Quality function with the plant, close alignment needs to be established to ensure the project is similar to the already established policies and processes. Communication links and information sharing practices need to be established.

Project Implementation

A Measurement process / protocol will need be generated and implemented for both the receiving of measurement parts and the distribution of the final measurement part and the returning of parts. A Standard Operating Procedure needs to written, with the process mapped out and documented to ensure each communication and change request is captured during the measurement process. The process must ensure the traceability at the point of handshake for the measurement report and parts for the conclusion of the process. A Measurement Service Provider needs to be appointed and a process implemented for them to perform the Measurement and reporting. This will include managing the tender process and supporting purchasing activities.

Customer Management

The project needs to ensure there is a "feedback" process in place to ensure the delivery of measurement reports are what the customer requested, the feedback from internal personnel will address as a minimum, document output quality, measurement capture, communication while analysis in progress, etc. The feedback must be captured and be capable of being reported to management level.
An IT solution should already exist for this project as a common IT infrastructure is in place and it is understood at this point that this system will be able to operate from this. This will needs confirmation in writing, if intense investigated is required (in excess of 8 hours) then an additional scope will be generated to cover the steps required to initiate the project.

Other Functions
The project needs to ensure it captures all our internal customers requirements when delivering reports.

3. Skills Required
• Attention to detail.
• General IT skills, including MS Office, or other similar programs.
• Working knowledge of CATIA.
• Writing programs and reporting data for Polyworks & Metrosoft.
• Knowledge and operational experience in project management.
• A minimum of three years in a measurement environment
• Engineering background preferably automotive ability to understand engineering drawings
• Interpersonal skills at a management level
