This role will be the lead for Burns & McDonnell for the project, developing and applying project controls and project management systems to ensure the effective coordination of the client’s programme. The role will be required to establish systems to maintain and report on project scope, schedule & budget and coordinate with other disciplines as needed. They will also need to liaise with the relevant DNO connections team to ensure the timely provision of the connection and associated permits and approvals.

Technical responsibilities

* Comprehensive understanding of project control methodologies and associated systems such as Primavera P6 and MS Project
* Providing a range of project control services including establishing systems, implementing planning controls, scheduling and prioritisation, monitoring and reporting and dashboard reporting
* Responsible for schedule management and cost management using earned value techniques
* Identify and overseeing Change Management and Risk management processes
* Experience of working with the network operators to ensure timely delivery of the connection
* Proven experience in project controls including an understanding of other engineering disciplines and management of interdisciplinary functions such as environmental and planning
* Knowledge of relevant industry regulation, standards and protocols
* Developing a thorough understanding of client requirements
* Appreciation and understanding of CDM regulations

* Able to manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines
* Able to work autonomously and/or as part of a project team
* Support the continued development of more junior team personnel providing technical guidance

Qualifications & Experience

* 7 years’ relevant experience in the infrastructure environment
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
* Strong preference for operational experience
