Kent and Medway Engineering, Design, Growth and Enterprise Hub (KM Edge) is a collaboration between Canterbury Christ Church University, a strong widening participation University, education providers and leading local engineering and technology employers. KM Edge will offer unique partnership-based and industry-facing solutions to the regional development challenge. Together, we are creating a new engineering, science and technology hub for Kent and Medway, supporting high-value employment, skills growth and inward investment.

We are looking for an exceptional individual with the skills, knowledge and motivation to help shape and deliver this new model of engineering excellence for future generations of diverse students, graduates and regional business.

An inspirational engineer and academic, the Engineering Outreach and Engagement Lead will lead the development and maintenance of strong relationships with key external stakeholders (including schools, colleges, engineering employers and professional bodies) to maximise inclusive and diverse student recruitment and interaction with employers.

The Lead will organise and deliver outreach activities associated with STEM programmes and liaise with the Director of Engineering Curriculum to determine the resources required to support these activities.

The post holder will also be required to lead the liaison with partner institutions, employers and professional bodies, The regional STEM Learning contract holder (CCCU) and the University’s Outreach and Marketing Teams.  It is critical that the Lead will promote the engineering curriculum which integrates the Engineering Habits of Mind (Royal Academy of Engineering) into the educational approach of Conceive, Design, Implement and Operate (CDIO).

The successful candidate will have a track record of designing and delivering outreach activities and/or networking and engagement with industrial partners and professional bodies. You should have a good degree in a relevant discipline related to the post. A PhD in a related discipline is also desirable or extensive engineering practitioner experience.
