TRO Services – TRO Officer



Reports to:

TRO - Team leader


Under the supervision of the TRO Services Team Leader & Principal TRO Officer, performs the roles and duties as required. As part of the TRO Service, ensures the delivery of the TRO Services to the client within commission parameters.

Key Results Area

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out tasks as directed by TRO Services Team Leader & Principal TRO Officer to provide TRO Service.
* Assist as directed with all types of enquiries and documentation associated with the Traffic Orders service provision.
* Maintain an up to date understanding of the changes in Legislation that may affect TRO’s.
* Deal with TRO related telephone and e-mail enquiries.
* Undertake procedures under Quality Management Systems as directed.
* To operate in compliance with company procedures, best practice and current legislation and guidance.
* Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation

* Understand Health & Safety responsibilities
* Ensure company policies are complied with

Functional Relationships

* Internal: Predominantly other team members and clients in Hertford. Colleagues across the UK business.

Person Specification


* A degree or formal qualification in a relevant subject. Minimum A-Level qualification. However knowledge and experience of the subject is desirable

* An understanding of the TRO process is desirable
* The ability to draft TRO’s is desirable
* Experience of working in a highways environment and the ability to communicate effectively with all clients and partners is essential.


* Drive and enthusiasm, an eye for detail, good problem solving skills and be able to communicate clearly and effectively
* Ideally have a clean driving license and be I.T. proficient.
* Be able to work within set budgets and to agreed deadlines.
* Be interested in working in both an office environment and when required spending time out on sites meeting clients.
* Be able to take ownership of your personal development in order to maintain and build your professional capacity.
* Computer literate, proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn to use local programs.
* Communicates clearly and in a straightforward way
* Is a team player and relates well to people in positions of authority
