Qualifications and experience:

* Educated to Degree level
* Member of (or be studying towards) an appropriate recognised professional institutionDuties and responsibilities:
* Hands on experience of using and supervising usage of planning systems e.g. MS Project, Primavera etc.
* Up-to-date knowledge of planning systems from a user’s perspective
* Co-ordinate the provision of effective planning and monitoring services to the Project Management team
* Enable Project Management to control the progress of contracts by identifying and producing integrated programmes of work, monitoring performance against plans and identifying problem areas and other effects
* Minimise company risk by identifying the critical path for contracts
* Enable resource planning and levelling by appropriate resource analysis of contracts
* Enable control of the progress of procurement by producing schedules for all materials and equipment, updating regularly and analysing the implications of updates
* Update and monitoring of project plans for applications for payment
* Preparation of tender programmes
* Preparation of as-built programmes
* Programmes submissions for requests for extension of time
* Preparation of project planning KPI’s

1. Knowledge and experience:

Person specification

* Experience in planning the design, procurement and construction of water treatment and wastewater treatment works
* Civil Engineering/M&E/Building experience
* At least 10 years’ experience
* Possess sound understanding of planning skills and programming
* Desirable knowledge of Causeway software

2. Skills:

* Excellent in written and verbal contractual communication
* Advanced in Microsoft Office – particularly Excel
* In depth working knowledge of planning systems
* Ability to impact and influence fellow workers
* Display analytical and innovation skills

3. Internal business processes:

* Continuously improve on accuracy of information
* Adhere to company procedures
* Assist in updating company procedures and processes as required

4. Health safety and environment:

* Monitor and enforce the latest health and safety procedures, regulations and legislation
* Reduce waste to a minimum from all departmental activities and ensure a safe working environment for all staff

5. Working condition:

* Based in Biwater’s Headquarters in Dorking, Surrey, but with travel as necessary in the UK and overseas to fulfil the above work scope
* Visits overseas to achieve appointed tasks in connection with either the execution of projects or the winning of new busines
* Pimarily based in the Dorking Head Office working as an essential part of the Projects and Risk department which is a centralised function that provides all the global resource for the Bid / Proposals, Estimating on the business, planning projects and providing the check and balance to the 15 countries we currently operate. Travel might take the form of helping out on a short term basis – a few weeks here and there or may have the opportunity to be part of a project team that would mean rotational travel to site on projects. The would have to want to do this however. In general, travel would be limited to firefighting
