Job Title: Compliance & Quality Manager

Salary: £24,000

Location: Wickham, Hampshire

Job Type: 40 per week Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm

As Compliance Technologist you would be the main point of contact for key retail customers from a technical perspective. You will be responsible for customer's specification database, co-ordination and management of customer's site visits and liaising on any queries, with the opportunity to develop and build strong working relationships with the retailers

Key Responsibilities:

* Reporting to the Technical Manager you will be responsible for the operational compliance of the site Quality Assurance policies and procedures ensuring products are manufactured safely and to the required customer agreed standard.
* Demonstrates good working knowledge of quality assurance principles, GMP, internal auditing plus HACCP and BRC requirements.
* To manage, motivate and develop the site QA policies and procedures ensuring that all aspects of the business are monitored and systems put in place for continuous improvement.
* To bring a consistency to the Technical department functions and provide the operations team with timely, clear communications on all food safety and quality issues throughout all manufacturing areas.
* Required to prepare and participate in site customer and accreditation audits.
* Demonstrate planning, organisational and analytical skills. Be able to work with and communicate with all levels in the business.
* Deputise for the Technical staff during holidays and absence.
* Demonstrated competency in compiling, completing and authoring of customer specifications, labels and online systems.

Key Requirements:

* Develop KPI’s to measure performance of QA compliance.
* Assist the department by supporting and challenging the site quality systems ensuring reviews announced / unannounced internal audits are carried out to maintain compliance with company, customer and external accreditation requirements.
* To become an active member of the site HACCP and internal audit team.
* Provides support to Operations Team to ensure the factory can operate effectively to the required Technical Standards whilst maintaining their operational efficiency.
* Setting of Quality Attribute Standards post factory trials, visual product standards, etc.
* Ensure Non-conformance deviations from the process or finished product specification are investigated and necessary corrective actions are taken, this to include the administration of the site quarantine and concessions log. Ensures food safety issues are actioned immediately and escalated to the Technical Manager.
* Ensures that an effective GMP audit programme is executed within the factory, corrective action is taken where necessary and continuous improvement is achieved.
* Food safety audits are completed as per agreed schedule, for example glass audits, knife audits.
* Assist the QA Manager to uphold the site internal audit programme against recognised accreditation standards. e.g. BRC, Red Tractor, Organic.
* Maintain technical testing schedules as dictated by the QMS, for example environmental swabbing, calibration, end of life tasting, micro sampling.
* Develop and implement appropriate taste panel system to ensure all products are routinely reviewed and actions are implemented to ensure products meet customer expectations.
* Completion of traceability exercises to comply with customer and external accreditation standards.
* To represent the technical function on specific site initiatives / projects.
* Attendance at site operations meetings as required.
* To conduct specific site training needs to satisfy customer and accreditation requirements, for example Allergen training.
