to £31,180 + benefits + overtime + call out allowances

Our client has been established for almost 30 years and provide both services and products on a truly global scale. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of continuous improvement and strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated and multi skilled electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to complement their established and successful maintenance team.

Working on a permanent day’s basis (7am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and a 3pm finish on a Friday), the successful Maintenance Engineer candidate will be tasked with ensuring that all electrical equipment and machinery is maintained and both breakdown repair and planned preventative and routine maintenance is conducted on equipment within the facility, ensuring continued safe operation of the production process in a hygienic manner within budgetary constraints.

Working as part of the maintenance engineer team, you will be required to undertake both reactive and planned maintenance tasks on machinery and support equipment within a busy Mill environment whilst following Safe Operating and Plant Hygiene Procedures inclusive of an out of hours rotor. You will have completed a recognised time served apprenticeship such as BTEC, NVQ or EAL in Maintenance & Engineering covering both Mechanical and Electrical skill sets.

The role will require you to be able to demonstrate electrical/electronic and mechanical skills as well as familiarity with computer based manufacturing process control systems, with Steel Fabrication skills proving distinctly advantageous. With a proven background in maintaining plant and equipment within either a production or manufacturing environment, you will ideally be BOAS Boiler trained and familiar with running and maintaining Plant services equipment such as Boilers, water treatment systems and dust filtration systems, and with high levels of quality/Hygiene awareness, you will be used to high standards needed to work in a top class maintenance Workshop and have the drive and vision to achieve such goals.

Other duties will include working with the Maintenance Team Leader & Site Management to complete the preventative maintenance schedule on time and within costs whilst ensuring tasks are completed in a safe manner and all equipment is kept in a safe condition, minimising Plant downtime due to mechanical and electrical failure and monitoring plant condition on a regular basis to prevent unnecessary equipment failures.

In addition to a highly competitive package, the company operates a "call out" system, and on each occasion that an engineer receives a call out, they will receive an additional £20 for each time called out to site as well as overtime whilst ‘On call’ - with a minimum of 3 hour’s overtime for each call out.
