Project Manager / Consultant – London

This is an immediate requirement for a Project Manager or Consultant to join a leading UK Consultancy in the London area.

A great opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to work for a leading UK Engineering Consultancy in the London area. This Project Manager role will be working closely with external clients to provide knowledge transfer, guidance, advice and quality control for large government programmes. These programmes can be very varied and currnetly cover everthing from SMART Metering, Communications

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an Engineering or Consultancy environment with a broad range of experience covering areas like risk, EVM and project finances.

Responsibilities for this role

- Help to deliver complex programmes through the integration of programme management and systems engineering/enterprise architecture.
- Work with clients to maintain a clear picture of their goals and how they are being realised
- Work onsite with Government Departments and agencies like:
**Home Office,
** Ministry of Justice,
** Cabinet Office,
** Department of Energy and Climate Change
** Department of Transport
** Met Police
** DE&S

Requirements for this role

- Minimum of one year’s experience in a Project Manager, Consultant or Business Analyst type position
- Have experience of working in a project environment particularly in the Engineering or central government sectors.
- Demonstrate practical experience in one or more of the following areas
** Project Control (including Earned Value),
** Planning and Scheduling,
** Project Risk Management,
** Cost Estimating and Forecasting,
** Through-life Management
** Planning and Assurance.
** An awareness of modelling tools, languages and frameworks such as UML, BPMN, TOGAF and Archimate.
** An Understanding of Agile project management and delivery methodologies (DSDM, Scrum, Kanban)
- Be a confident individual who can perform when working as part of a team or when acting independently with support from colleagues.
- Operate effectively at senior levels in a client’s team to influence strategic decision makers whilst acting at the working level to deliver practical solutions.
- Be articulate with good presentation and written communication skills.
- Have a genuine enthusiasm to contribute to the growth of a successful business.
- Be a member of an appropriate professional body (such as APM) and have a desire for further professional development.


Due to the nature of the work at this site, applicants must be capable of achieving SC level UK security clearance. Current clearance is not a requirement.

The odd travel will be required to sites in Bath and Bristol
