Group Hardware Manager working with a large electronics company who are looking to unify design process and hardware selection across all of their sites in order to create a global strategy which will allow them to move their traditionally simple electronics into the IOT era.

As group hardware manager you will be working on a global scale to lead the group into the next stage of their product ecosystem. You will need a strong appreciation of hardware but your role will be to bring software to the forefront of the business.

* Leadership – The Group Electronics Manager must be a leader of people and provide confident and effective leadership to a multi-cultural team across a number of geographical locations.
* Networking and influencing – The Group Electronics Manager must be able to communicate and influence as all levels within the organisation.
* Energy and drive - The Group Electronics Manager must be a dynamic, self-starting individual, with vision backed up with experience, and will be able to mould a globally dispersed group of engineers into high performing group resource.

* Systems architecture – The Group Electronics Manager must be able to demonstrate a successful track record in defining and implementing complex embedded electronics systems.

Expertise in embedded wireless communications, internet enabled devices, Internet of Things principles (IOT), homogenising a GUI across multiple products and companion application development would be beneficial.

You will be working with various teams across multiple sites and brands globally in order to unify design approaches for product development, hardware and systems. You will be setting the foundation, strategy and vision to create an interconnected ecosystem of products built around IOT principles.

Key Skills

This is a leadership role, candidates will need to have strong leadership experience, dynamic communication abilities and the relevant technical background for the role

A strong background in hardware development is essential to this role as well as experience delivering strategic vision on a global scale; you will need proven experience of delivering software projects, ideally for interconnected products.

A proven track record in building, managing and mentoring engineering teams, preferably across multiple site locations, is key.

Any experience of wireless communications, internet enabled devices, Internet of Things principles (IOT), GUI design strategy (think Homogenization) or consumer electronics would be beneficial but by no means essential.
