Responsibilities include

* Design automotive radar electronics in a cross disciplinary manner (software, mechanics, systems etc.)
* Evaluate customer specifications and translation into designs
* Design and verification of automotive compliant electrical circuits e.g. Power Supplies, DDR-RAMs and SoC
* Support of Layout Engineers, Test Engineers, Purchasing and Production
* Market analysis of new technologies and technology trends e.g. new high-speed interfaces
* Support customer presentations, interface with OEMs on requirements and architectural topics, in all project phases from quoting to production
* Evaluating internal and external engineering design change requests
* Documentation of design, test and verifications (e.g. review protocols, Hardware-Software Interface Specification)


* Bachelor degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent technical field


* Minimum 5 year experience in electrical design, preferably in automotive industry
* Familiar with

* different design tools (e.g. Altium Designer, Mentor, PSPICE, …)
* Worst Case Circuit Analysis in Mathcad or Excel
* hands-on testing of electrical circuits
* automotive development process
* understanding of regulations and standards of the automotive industry
* oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and RF signal generators
* interfaces and busses like I2C, SPI, CAN, FlexRay, DDR-RAM, LVDS and others

* Strong understanding of digital high speed designs such as FPGA and DDR-Memory
* Knowledge in Signal and Power Integrity Analysis
* Advanced knowledge in EMC

Competencies required

* Familiar with lab equipment for electrical measurements and verifications
* Familiar with functional safety designs (ISO 26262)
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Able to work in distributed global team environment
* Willing to learn and work with new technologies
* Ability to travel to both domestic and international locations (engineering and manufacturing sites, suppliers, and customers)
* Good English and German skills are essential
* Experience with Automotive radar systems working at 77 GHz
* Experience in AFE and MMIC designs including Antenna Arrays
* Experience in PCB Layout and Manufacturing
* requirements engineering/management process
* requirements management tools such as DOORS and MKS
* Familiar with ASIL compliant designs
* FMEA methods and tools (such as APIS IQ FMEA)
* Driver license class B
