A fantastic opportunity for a ‘Clerk of Works/ Inspector’ has become available to join a leading engineering consultancy; on a contracting basis in Norfolk, within their Highways side of the business.

The Clerk of Works role shall involve:
  • Ensuring work is carried out to client standards, specification and schedule under Site Supervisor on an NEC contract

  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety work

  • Vigilant inspection of technical aspects of work

  • Keeping detailed records of the work – put in regular reports to the architect/planner/ client

  • Taking measurements and samples on site- ensuring that the materials meet specifications and quality standards

  • Having a good knowledge of H+S legislation

  • Records details of: Progress and delays, number and types of workers employed, weather conditions, visitors on site, drawings received, deliveries

  • Detailing any significant events – including deficiencies in Health and Safety performance observed


The ideal candidate shall have the following experience:
  • An understanding of the highways construction industry – materials, trades, methods and legal requirements

  • Physically fit

  • Attentive to detail when work checking and material checking

  • Able to establish and appropriate collaborative working relationship with Delivery Partner
