Fire Systems Package Manager – London

My client is looking for a fire systems package manager to act as the Designated (Responsible Person) for Fire Protection Systems (Active) across a number of hospital estate and oversee the management of contractual and legislative Planned and Reactive Maintenance tasks for all active and passive fire systems, so as to ensure the safe provision of Fire services in accordance with HTM 05-01, 81, 82 and BS 5839.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a major engineering company that will utilise your skills and experience on projects that are challenging but also rewarding. The company are looking to pay a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per year plus a company vehicle, private health care and a pension scheme. 

 Your responsibilities
  • You are to be the Designated Fire Manager across a number of hospitals.
  • Advise and update any changes to the Fire policy document and ensure that Skanska procedures are adhered to. 
  • Manage and maintain the Fire Equipment register.
  • Manage and maintain the Site Building Fire Log Books, where it is deemed Skanska responsibility within the Site Fire Policy. .
  • Supervise and oversee the works conducted on the Fire Systems and associated plant. Ensuring that contractor and in house engineer’s competence is checked and they are appointed as competent persons as required.
  • Monitor, manage and the implementation and accuracy of the equipment maintenance records and the associated documents, ensure all stored in accordance with the site document control process.
  • Maintain close liaison with the Fire Officer for any operational concerns and ensure completion of the annual Fire Risk Assessment and closure of any actions from this and any other specialist reports.
  • Implementation and action the day to day monitoring and maintenance of risk management systems so as to ensure there is no uncontrolled clinical impact.
  • Advise on continual improvement, procedures and actions for the prevention and control of airborne infections.
  • Resolving operational issues as they occur and ensuring that Incident report forms are completed in full.
  • Attendance at any Fire meetings and to produce site specific compliance reports to adhere with current policy and contractual requirements.
  • Report any/all departures in compliance to the Senior Engineering Compliance immediately; Provide feedback on all aspects of Statutory and Mandatory compliance, detailing departures from compliance and any control measures enabled to ensure compliance, continually monitor the controls and identify areas of weakness that require improvement across Fire systems.
  • To undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post and grade as may be determined by Senior Management
