Full Time
Role: Senior to Principal Structural Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (negotiable)

I am looking to place a Structural Design Engineer within an international engineering consultancy’s Manchester office in order to replace a member of staff who is leaving to New Zealand. The role would suit someone who has been operating at a Senior level for some time and is looking to move up, increasing their responsibilities with regards to managing more people, handling more sign-off responsibilities, taking more of a leadership role at client meetings as well as handling their own technical design work of more complex projects.

The firm handles a range of multidisciplinary civil and structural projects across 20 countries, with offices spread over the UK, Asia, Australia and the Middle East in a variety of sectors including, but not limited to: Retail, Rail, Residential, Aviation, MOD, Healthcare and Industrial.

This is a firm that is continuing to increase in size, and this opportunity will have long-term career prospects with regards to upwards mobility and seniority. This particular post is to replace someone who is emigrating to New Zealand and the firm are interested in viewing any suitable individuals quickly.

Ideally, candidates will be chartered with either the IStructE or ICE and have some experience post-chartership. Alternatively, candidates who have been operating at the right level but never got around to finishing their chartership will still be considered, but there is the expectation that any successful candidate will work towards completing their chartership quickly after joining. There will be support from accredited schemes and mentorship from more senior colleagues for those that need it.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a large, but still expanding consultancy with excellent career and skills development opportunities.

Job Requirements:
  • Relevant Education in Structural Engineering
  • Relevant experience in residential, commercial, retail, education, high-rise structural design
  • Chartership with IStructE or ICE (desirable)
  • Relevant experience leading other junior engineers/technicians
  • Ability to liaise with clients and represent stakeholder’s interests
