A Senior Network Security Engineer is required to join an innovative global technology company who are doing great things with End User Computing and cloud based infrastructures.

Role: Senior Network Security Engineer

As Senior Network Security Engineer you will be responsible for:

+ Operating knowledge of security Gateways/products (Palo Alto, IDS/IPS, Juniper GSS/SRX)
+ Providing expertise to architecture and/or management to help make decisions and set priorities concerning all aspects of the network environment
+ Collaborating with external suppliers and vendors for opportunities including the automation, network monitoring, reporting and analysis
+ Demonstrating a solid understanding of the underlying Platform to our internal customers
+ Participating as an active member of a transformation programme team, including daily and weekly meetings
+ Creating and implementing low-level designs in alignment with architecture principles and standards

+ Providing guidance and mentoring to other engineers, supporting the design, implementation and troubleshooting when required


As Senior Network Security Engineer you will have experience of:

+ Degree qualified or equivalent in Computer Science or other relevant discipline
+ Strong experience within Security Operations
+ Practical Experience with Palo Alto and Juniper SSG/SRX
+ Solid understanding of security best practices, particularly in relation to intrusion detection, web content filtering, data leakage prevention and encryption
+ In-depth understanding of VPN and supporting technologies
+ Proficient with a programming language such as Python, Ruby, Perl, Java or C/C++
+ Advanced knowledge of security technologies including intrusion detection and prevention
+ Proficiency in Networking concepts such as WAN connectivity, transport types and protocols, including Ethernet point to point
+ Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure network designs, including best practices in configuring AWS Direct Connect and Azure
