Production Engineer Technician

Location: Milton Keynes

Contract 6months - up to £25per hour DOE

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Production Engineer Technician for their well-known IT Company based in Milton Keynes. The ideal candidate will need to have worked within Production or Development Engineering and have a working knowledge of RF and Microwave products as well as test equipment.

The role will involve supporting the transfer of new products from Engineering to Manufacturing. To provide support to manufacturing as required ensuring all operational targets are met, materials are to required standard and equipment is maintained. To support lean initiatives for the improvement of manufacturing techniques and products, reducing cycle times, removing waste and increasing quality and repeatability

* To support NPI by working with the Engineering and Manufacturing teams as appropriate
* To develop strong working relationships with other team members within Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality
* Provide support to Operators / Technicians in product manufacture
* Produce detailed assembly and test documentation to ensure accurate manufacture of high quality products
* Commission new equipment to fulfil manufacturing requirements
* Measure processes and identify improvement opportunities
* Identify materials to address obsolescence issues and / or supplier changes
* Assist with the acceptance of new orders, checking BOM’s, routings, test procedures, product specifications etc.
* To attend departmental meetings as required
* To ensure that all Environmental Health and Safety / Company Policies are adhered to at all times
* To provide assistance to other departments in order to meet overall Company objectives
* Continuous Improvement, You will have responsibility to make suggestions on Continuous Improvement within the business; expectations are around 4 a year. This responsibility forms part all employees’ job description.

Key Competencies Required:

* A working knowledge of RF and Microwave products and Test equipment
* Ability to test complex RF and Microwave products.
* Good inter-personnel skills with the ability to communicate at all levels. Self-motivated, creative and forward thinking
* Flexible at all times, particularly when deadlines need to be met
* Must be competent in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Previous Relevant Work Experience:

* Worked within Production Engineering or Development Engineering to transfer products into production

Minimum Qualifications:

* Industry experience more relevant than academic qualifications, but Degree in an electronic discipline would be desirable or minimum HNC + 2 years’ experience
* Further education/courses associated with RF engineering an advantage
