Our globally renowned client has been established for more than 25 years and specialise in the development, manufacture, installation and service of automated robotic systems allied primarily to the automotive manufacturing sector, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and highly self-motivated and capable Field Service Engineer to complement their established and professional team.

Ideally based centrally within the Midlands or Staffordshire region and covering both the UK and international customers as required (so a full UK driving licence is essential for the position), the successful Field Service Engineer will operate as the primary interface between the customer and the company’s Service Organisation, and will play a significant role in determining the company’s image as viewed by the customer, so exceptional communication and customer facing skills at all levels are essential for success in the position, as is a flexible approach to travel at short notice to resolve reactive issues as a priority and to the customer’s satisfaction.

Core responsibilities for this varied and challenging Field Service Engineer role will include (but not be limited to):

* Repairs of robotic systems and equipment in the field.
* Repairs of UHP waterjet systems and equipment.
* Full system installations.
* Perform robot programming and program changes such as logic, software and path alterations through off-line or on-line methods.
* Provide robot specific or systems training in an informal environment to customers as required
* Submit Sales leads for additional system/ service opportunities

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC level or above in a relevant electrical engineering or technical discipline and will essentially possess multi skilled fault finding and troubleshooting abilities allied to Mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, robotic and controls systems, along with field service or programming experience, with a particular mechanical aptitude for performing any mechanical component repair or replacement as required.

Knowledge of Siemens PLC communications and other robotic peripheral equipment is also required, with exposure to waterjet / routing / material removal systems proving distinctly advantageous. You will essentially demonstrate strong English written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of the MS suite of packages as well as the ability to work autonomously and under pressure whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction.
