This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate with the ability and confidence to manage a collaborative project with The University of Manchester and Extronics Limited, a leading global designer and manufacturer of intrinsically safe and explosion proof equipment for hazardous and extreme environments.   

The University of Manchester and Extronics Ltd. are looking to recruit an electronics engineer to undertake this 30 month project which has the overall aim of creating a small, battery powered, electronic tag using a combination of tracking technologies to determine personnel and asset position, integrated into a novel server based network data management and data-fusion system.

The position will provide you with a unique opportunity to gain experience in managing a high-profile industrial project which will underpin Extronics’ exciting growth plans for the future.

You will require a minimum of a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or equivalent and a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a strong element of system architecture design or a Masters Degree with relevant industrial experience.

This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry.

Based at Extronics in Middlewich Cheshire, you will work directly with supervisors from both the University and Extronics and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations. 

This role is Fixed Term, from as soon as possible until 30 April 2020, 30 months.
