Job Title: Inkjet Development Engineer

Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Reports To: Senior Principal Engineer

Job Role:

Our client is the leading provider of product identification solutions in a wide range of industries including food, beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care, electronics, chemical, and aerospace. Currently they are seeking an Inkjet Development Engineer to join their team in Huntingdon, United Kingdom.

Purpose of the Position:

In this role you will be developing new sub-systems and products for industrial printing applications. Starting from the concept stage, the successful candidate will work in a team to develop working lab demonstrators prototypes and ultimately products. They are seeking a candidate who will be comfortable with methodical hands on laboratory work, whilst having a solid grasp of the background technical theory. There is scope for leadership development within the role, making it equally appropriate for graduate entry applicants or established engineers. Although relevant ink jet experience is desirable, suitable qualified candidates looking to build a career in the industry will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

* Investigate, develop and test new ideas to working prototype product stage.
* Set up and performance of laboratory tests and experiments.
* Creative problem solving and troubleshooting.
* Working with external experts to develop key components and processes.
* Attaining results by working collaboratively within a multi-disciplined team.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

* Experience of working in a laboratory and designing experiments.
* Analytical, evidence driven approach
* Ability to apply engineering principles to get practical results.
* Product development experience gained in a high tech industry R&D environment is desirable.
* Familiarity with CAD packages such as Solidworks at a sufficient level to draught quick solutions and communicate ideas would be an advantage.

* Degree Qualified - Engineering discipline
* Experience of working in and R&D / product development environment
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of project management tools & methodologies (desirable)
